Mount Merici Catholic Academy is dedicated to nurturing the whole child – mind, body and spirit – providing love and guidance so that students can achieve their personal best. In partnership with families, our mission is to instill Christ-centered values of respect, responsibility and self-discipline, teaching students in the Ursuline Serviam tradition of service to our community and the world.

Meg Kruithoff, Mount Merici Class of '02, and a junior at Colby College, chose Mrs. Russo and the students in one of her gym classes as the focus of her Radio Documentary Class assignment "profiling a person whose job makes a sound." Meg, an American Studies major with a Creative writing minor, said the directive was to create a radio feature that sounded like something you might hear on National Public Radio. "It was a fun, challenging and interesting class," Meg says, admitting she's not convinced it is her life's work, but says, "I do know that I appreciate NPR all the more, now that I know how much time it takes to make good, engaging radio features." We think it's NPR-worthy! Nice work Meg! Click here to listen for yourself: Russo/MMS Gym Class Featured in Radio Documentary
Mount Merici Academy students, PreK through Grade 6, with faculty and staff, presented the 2010 Spring Musical "The Change" before a standing room only crowd March 21.
"The Change" featured all original music written and orchestrated by Julia Vigue of Waterville, a gifted alumna and proud Mount Merici parent. The program's theme centered on the power each person has to be the change in this world.
As part of the performance, Julia incorporated an incredible video of Ursuline students around the world singing "Insieme", a song performed by Mount Merici students last year in honor of the Ursuline chapter message "together".
The following link is from the Mount Merici Academy 2009 Spring Musical "Love Changes Everything." This is how one elementary school in Maine is contributing to peace. This is from our production of an original musical entitled "Love Changes Everything." This video contains the original title song from that were performed by Julia Vigue and The Children of Mount Merici.
The children worked to raise money to help the Ursuline Sisters of the Northeast Province build a school in Akon, South Sudan, and also bought a large number of goats for families in Kenya, through Feed the Children. This video is being acclaimed worldwide as part of "Peace One Day" For more information, go to PeaceOneDay.com.
