Mount Merici graduates consistently lead in academic endeavors, extra-curricular activities and standardized testing results at local high schools and at post secondary institutions. Over the last several years we have been tracking our alumni and focusing on how well they do at other schools. Approximately 80% of Mount Merici Academy graduates go on to make the honor roll each quarter at the surrounding junior high and high schools. At Mount Merici, students receive a strong foundation for future success. Mount Merici students continually receive academic recognition in spelling bees, Geo Bees, Modern Woodmen Speech Contests, and John Hopkins Talent Searches.
Proud Tradition embraces
a promising Future.
Mount Merici Academy administers the Stanford Achievement Test to students in grades 3 though 6. In addition, Grade 4 students also participate in the Otis-Lennon Ability testing program.
The Stanford Achievement Test is an educational assessment tool used to measure the yearly academic progress of each student. The results are compared with those of other students at the same grade level nation wide. Testing results also provide us with valuable information for reviewing our present curriculum for strengths and weaknesses. Historically, Mount Merici students perform above national grade level percentiles.
Academic programming consists of core grade level curriculums that are designed to build on subject area skills as each child progresses from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6. Within each classroom there are levels of remediation and enrichment, as well as grade level instruction. Through our Saxon Math Program, Mount Merici Academy offers students an opportunity for advancement in Grades 3 through 6, including transitioning to the next grade level for advanced math placement.
