Mount Merici Academy

Message from the Principal

Susan CoteWelcome to Mount Merici Academy!

How to best educate America’s children is an issue of debate and concern in many political as well as educational arenas. Educational researchers recognize that a successful formula for educating children includes Parental Involvement, High Academic Standards and a Value Centered Learning Environment.

Parent Involvement: At Mount Merici Academy, each family commits to a minimum of 20 hours per year of service to our school. Research shows that parent involvement makes the biggest difference in delivery of a quality education.

High Academic Standards: The majority of Mount Merici Academy students score above the national average on achievement tests. However, test scores don’t tell the whole story. The priority for us is development of the whole child. The curriculum is designed so that the students are aided to think constructively, to reason logically and to accept responsibility.

Values Centered Learning Environment: Mount Merici students hear the gospel message proclaimed and modeled so that they might go forth and do the same. Every child who walks through our doors is known by name, respected and valued. Students are rewarded for kind deeds and thoughtful actions as well as for good grades.

I extend an invitation to each of you to visit our school. At that time, I will conduct a tour, provide program information and answer your questions. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our Mount Merici Academy community!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Cote Principal
